Okehampton sits at the northern gateway to Dartmoor — a market town on the A30 with a mix of period stone buildings and modern housing. It's on the eastern edge of our coverage area, roughly 30 miles from Bude through the Devon lanes. The Dartmoor edge setting means exposure: high rainfall, consistent wind, and frost frequency significantly higher than coastal Devon.

Okehampton's older housing stock includes granite and rubble-stone construction typical of Dartmoor-edge Devon.
